It's been a comedy of errors with Telstra, I've lodged a formal complaint with them so hopefully they will fix the phone line sometime next week and the ADSL will finally get reconnected... Stay tuned...
I spoke with Telstra on Friday, and apparently the phone line will be back with us this week.
And note - it's not really Telstra's fault, it's the builders up the road who a) cut the cable and b) are preventing Telstra from fixing it by placing piles of bricks on top of the pit.
